Indie Business Cards: DIY Tips for Fun Beveled Cards You Can Make

Here’s a lovely project for those of you who are looking for an elegant-yet-punk DIY look: indie business cards you can make at home.  Customize these indie business cards by using black card stock with pearly white ink. Or take these cards you can make a step further and have a custom stamp created just for you!

Supplies:

  • Card stock, scrapbooking paper, etc.
  • Stamps & ink
  • Circle or traditional hole punch
  • Calligraphy pen or extra fine permanent marker

Step 1.  Cut your paper into 2” x 3 1/2” rectangles.  Stamp your image, logo, and/or business name.  Play around with this until you get a combination that you really love.

Step 2. Place a corner of the card into the circle or hole punch.  Remove about a 1/4” triangle from each corner.

Step 3.  If you need to make any adjustments to the design of your indie business cards, now is a good time to do that.  If you’re completely happy with your design you can use your pen to draw curves about 1/8” from the inner edges of all 4 curves.  Draw only the curves before moving on to Step 4.

Step 4. Connect the curves with straight lines.  Use the other side of the card to write in any information not included on the front, such as an email or home address.  Voila —  your indie business cards are all done!
